Summary: | The present work shows the development of a knowledge-based system called Taxaniv whose purpose is to support the learning processes associated with the taxonomy of invertebrate animals. The evolutionary development methodology was adopted for this purpose, using the prolog language as a functional mechanism of logic programming, the computational paradigm on which this system is based. The stages carried out during the development process are shown, obtaining a functional prototype which allows the carrying out of basic and specialized queries that the user can do as a reinforcement of the learning activity related to the taxonomy of invertebrate animals. In addition, the causes that generate learning difficulties in relation to this topic were identified and a didactic unit was established that allows the application of Taxaniv in related areas of biology. The incorporation of this knowledge-based system will strengthen the learning processes associated with the taxonomy of invertebrates and facilitate the obtaining of information regarding this group of animals through simple and specialized queries. Finally, it is recommended to make a greater supply of information in the knowledge base and to emphasize the design of the user interface. |
