La urbanización es un fenómeno que propone desafíos importantes para la supervivencia de las especies, estas presiones fomentan cambios a nivel del desarrollo expresándose en su morfología. Sin embargo, son pocos los estudios que se han estudiado las modificaciones en la morfología a nivel bilateral en estos entornos. Se evaluó la variación morfológica y la asimetría fluctuante (AF) en seis rasgos óseos en poblaciones urbanas, periurbanas y rurales de la lagartija verdi azul Cnemidophorus lemniscatus. Los resultados mostraron esperadas diferencias de los rasgos entre los sexos, presentando los machos los mayores tamaños. Así mismo, solo dos rasgos (metatarso y tronco) mostraron diferencias entre los sitios, presentando mayores tamaños hacia las zonas urbanas tanto en hembras como en machos. En cuanto a AF, solo se halló presencia en dos rasgos (extremidad anterior y metatarso) mostrando mayores valores de asimetría hacia las zonas rurales. Los demás rasgos (metacarpo, tronco y extremidad posterior) presentaron asimetría direccional prenotándose para este último raso mayores valores hacia las zonas urbanas. No hubo diferencias en el nivel de AF y AD entre los sexos excepto, las extremidades anteriores y posteriores indicando posibles diferencias de género en esta extremidad. Estos estudios comparativos son de vital importancia para comprender como se desarrollan los animales en entornos cambiantes y de este modo llegar a comprender las implicaciones ecológicas y evolutivas que subyacen en la morfología y comportamientos de estos. |
