Summary: | In this work, the geohistorical process that explains the Syrian-Lebanese immigration in the municipality of Cereté is studied, multiple factors were combined for the development of one of the population movements from the Middle East to the Colombian continental Caribbean, where they were distributed by different regions , in the Sinú Valley, favorable conditions for trade allowed the arrival of Asians to the municipality of Cerete in the current department of Córdoba, where a large group of immigrants arrived whose presence was of great importance, leaving an economic and social legacy to the population. The incidence of these foreigners in the commercial life of the Sinú Medio province is analyzed, based on the entrepreneurship and intervention that they exercised in the local economy and on the territory, implementing commercial practices and activities in which they stood out (buying and selling, banking , river transport, public investments, agriculture, livestock and real estate), which allowed them to establish commercial relations at the national level, making themselves known and expanding their opportunities to prosper, managing to influence the strengthening of the commercial circuit of the municipality. |
