Description
Summary:This research report addresses the problem of how to improve the teaching and learning process of the English language in relation to the theme of "personal pronouns" in 11th grade students at Villa Margarita Educational Institution in the city of Montería. The general objective of the study was to implement a Virtual Learning Object (OVA) as a digital resource to enhance this topic in the English area. The specific objectives consisted of identifying difficulties related to personal pronouns, designing a OVA that would meet the students' needs, implementing and evaluating its effectiveness, as well as understanding the students' experiences when using the OVA. The methodology used was action research, based on the observation, reflection, and action phases proposed by (Stringer, 1999). Through cycles of diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation, the issue was addressed, and improvements in the teaching and learning process were sought. A combination of diagnostic tests, activities with the OVA, and satisfaction surveys were used to collect data. The results revealed that there are difficulties in the comprehension and application of personal pronouns by the students. However, after the implementation of the OVA, significant progress was observed in the classification and identification of personal pronouns. Furthermore, it was found that the OVA motivated the students to continue learning about the topic and was positively valued in terms of design and quality of content. In conclusion, this study demonstrates that the implementation of a Virtual Learning Object can improve the teaching and learning process of personal pronouns in 11th grade students. The OVA provided an effective and motivating tool to strengthen the knowledge of this topic in the English area, generating greater interest and enthusiasm for learning among the students. These results support the usefulness of digital resources in the educational field and suggest their integration as a strategy to enhance language learning.
