Summary:Breast cancer is typified as the most common among women worldwide, likewise, is considered a public health problem. Among the common treatments for breast cancer chemotherapy stands out. The objective of this research was document the scientific evidence about the factors that influence adherence to chemotherapy treatment in women with breast cancer. This study consisted of an integrative review of the literature, with a descriptive and retrospective scope. A search of the information was carried out in da tabases such as; Proquest, Scielo, Scopus, Embase, Science Direct, BVS, Lilacs, Pubmed, Medline and the Repository of the University of Córdoba. A total of 11,701 publications were collected. Applying all exclusion and inclusion criteria, 20 articles were selected, of these, 19 publications are in Spanish and 1 in Portuguese. According to the selected literature, we can classify factors related to treatment adherence into 3 types or classes; I). Sociodemographic factors, including religious beliefs, age, s ex and socioeconomic status. II). Social or family factors: The most common factors are the presence of a stable partner and family support. III). Treatmentrelated factors: Factors such as adverse effects and type of treatment stand out. In addition, the quality of life of the breast cancer patient is influenced by 4 main factors; Physical condition and functioning, Treatmentrelated illness and symptoms, Psychological functioning and social functioning.
