Description
Summary:The phenomenon of globalization by means of new technologies and mass media has fomented relations between citizens and collectives more directly, a situation that has determined a pluralistic context in cultural terms. From this context comes legal pluralism as a concept that explains the many current legal practices, which, in turn, engage in the analysis of legal deliberations as a recognition of the cultural diversity of contemporary states. This is expressed through constitutional court declarations, essential cultural identities to configure citizenship, and the criticisms of multiculturalism, which is more allied with market and consumer interests than with a real recognition of cultural diversity. The article will present these analyses, discussions, and reflections.
