Description
Summary:A new instrument for assessing AIcohol-related Problems according to ICD-IO and DSMIV is introduced. This Questionnaire contains 46 items about alcoholic intoxication, abuse and dependence. It was used a criterion-referenced tests model and Guttman’s unidimentional accumulative scales. The sample had 309 participants, college students, anonymous alcoholics and uninstitutionalized alcoholics. Scales reliability coefficients vary between .62 and .87; scales validity indexes, between .5 and .85; sensitivity coefficient equals .86 and specificity coefficient, .68. The questionnaire has a positive predictive power of .87; a negative predictive power of .65, and an overall diagnostic power of .81. The principal features of this questionnaire are its efficiency for evaluating the development of different signs of alcohol-related problems, and its utility in research and clinical evaluation
