Abstract Cities are product of numerous processes, and as such tend to concentrate both risks and opportunities. This text focuses on the presentation of research progress in building a model of sustainable urban intervention called Ecobarrio applicable to the Latin American context, stressing the importance of local action in the territory, as well as its contextualization in accordance with the conditions of the environment, identifying the main components that include local needs from the economic, social, ecological, physical space and finally the political, with which it is possible to generate a conceptual framework for assessing urban vulnerability to environmental conflicts such as technological, natural and social hazards, to generate a proposal for a model of sustainable urban intervention applicable to current Latin American context in a case study in the municipality of Yumbo, Valle in Colombia, determining the components of the model and its applicability. |
