description Sin duda uno de los temas que más controversia ha desencadenado en el tiempo es aquel que se trata de abarcar mediante el término placebo. Un ejemplo excepcional de lo polémico que pueden ser los resultados de un estudio el cual incluya un grupo control placebo, es el publicado, recientemente (11 de Junio de 2002, Nº 2, Volumen 347), por J. Bruce Moseley y colaboradores en el New England Journal of Medicine. En este trabajo, 180 pacientes aquejados de osteoartritis de la rodilla fueron intervenidos quirúrgicamente. Siguiendo un diseño ciego simple, los sujetos se asignaron aleatoriamente a una de las modalidades de intervención: débridement artroscópico, lavage artroscópico, o cirugía placebo. A los pacientes en el grupo placebo se le practicaron unas incisiones en la piel, simulando la maniobra de débridement pero sin la inserción del artroscopio.

It is an event of which it is not possible to get rid, since it represents a fundamental aspect in all process of intervention; that is to say, its activity is extensive and complex subject, that does not have to be restricted to an only scope to discipline or professional, on the contrary, it happens in all the contexts.
