Este artículo hace parte de un proyecto de investigación que busca determinar una clase de desacuerdos  comprensible como un campo de argumentación que no se produce porque haya malentendidos, sino por la  naturaleza de algunos fenómenos sociales. Este artículo se aproxima a ese campo mediante la noción de los  conceptos esencialmente polémicos (Gallie) y arguye que se puede comprender satisfactoriamente,  siguiendo la retórica clásica, como un campo constituido por una clase de cuestiones de definición. Para ello  se disponen dos partes, en la primera, se exponen la noción de concepto esencialmente polémico de Gallie y  algunas notas de la recepción de su propuesta; en la segunda parte, se expone la noción de campo de  argumentación, el debate en torno al modo en que los campos de argumentación pueden ser comprendidos  y la cuestión de cómo entender el campo de argumentación relativo a los conceptos esencialmente polémicos. |

This paper approaches this field through the notion of essentially contested concepts (Gallie),  and argues that one can understand this kind of disagreement successfully, following classical rhetoric, as a  field constituted by a class of questions of definition. This article has two parts: the first explains Gallie’s  notion of essentially contested concept and some notes on its reception.
