Description
Summary:The present investigation analyzes the parental narratives about the experience of crisis, adjustment and adaptability that a family has before the illness of a son born with hydrocephalus (Case Study). The methodology used is qualitative and narrative design. The participants were a couple (male and female) from Providencia and Santa Catalina, in San Andrés, Colombia; who had a child with congenital hydrocephalus. The technique chosen to collect the information was the unstructured interview and the inductive categorization was used for its analysis. The results allowed to narrate the expectations that the family had regarding their son before learning about the diagnosis and also to describe the experiences that the family faced after the diagnosis and the birth.
