Su nombre científico es Passiflora Edulis. Esta fruta tiene un sabor agridulce refrescante y es rica en potasio, fósforo, magnesio y vitaminas, lo que la convierte en una opción saludable para los consumidores. La planta de maracuyá es una enredadera que puede alcanzar hasta nueve metros de altura en condiciones climáticas favorables.
