Summary: | After being approved by the Congress of the Republic in the government of President Juan Manuel Santos, Law 1874 of December 27, 2017, which aims to reestablish the compulsory teaching of Colombian history as a discipline integrated into the curricular guidelines of the social sciences in basic and secondary education, the following questions arise: what history should be taught in educational classrooms? those of the winners or the losers? Because, as González & Aguilera (2019) maintain, "the weight of history is undeniable, as a result of a long-standing practice, in charge of reconstructing the stories of glory to kings, warriors and rulers in each era." (p.21). At first, the story was born as a narrative record by those who ruled so that the most significant events were reflected in it, from the perspective of the person who wrote it. The above statement was reflected for a long time in the use of school textbooks in which indigenous, Afro-descendant and women's history was excluded. |
