From this perspective, the article touches upon issues like the first hillside settlements, the following construction of neighborhoods, the collective efforts to improve common areas and services, the introduction of the community to pottery industry, the different stages for brick production and the working conditions at pottery factories and brickyards.El artículo busca establecer las características fundamentales de la memoria colectiva de los habitantes de los barrios del Cerro del Cable en Bogotá, enfocándose en la relación que existe entre la memoria colectiva y la configuración de una identidad barrial en la que, la apropiación del territorio del cerro y la experiencia del oficio común de la alfarería tienen un lugar determinante.
