Description
Summary:Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a degenerative disease, it develops inflation of the joints and surrounding tissues, causing pain and loss of joint functions, for the treatment of pain in people who suffer from the disease, drugs and physical therapies of rehabilitation for analgesia, applying thermotherapy and electro stimulation; Currently, there is a lack of therapeutic tools for the analgesic and desinflammatory treatment for this pathology, which are different from conventional drugs. In this project, the design and development of an electronic device for the analgesic treatment of rheumatoid arthritis is proposed. For this, a device is proposed in this project that allows the alternate application in physiotherapeutic treatments of analgesia techniques by physical means through thermotherapy and low-frequency electrostimulation. This device is focused on applying these techniques to the upper limb, specifically in the area suffering from this pathology, which is mainly the hand. The prototype implementation was designed to be user-friendly, allowing its practical use through a visual interface for easy manipulation, relying on a user manual where the functions of the device are provided for proper use.
