Description
Summary:Solid waste management is a logistic and environmental problem, that affects in high proportion some smalltown and places where there is no collection or treatment waste service. This is the case of Cerro Rico smalltown, which does not have collection waste service, sanitary landfill or other waste management alternative. Antonio Nariño University campus Buga, though social work service, met this case and began a project about plastic recycling, offering to the community small talks about correct plastic classification in order to help the environment. The classified plastic, they are processed in a mil where they are crushed and easy usable. In order to continue the social project, the design and manufacture of a plastic molding machine for the Cerro Rico village was proposed, whose function is to melt the crushed plastic and thus convert it into plastic tiles. Therefore, in this Project, a plastic injection-molding machine was designed and builded with a base made of structural tubing with measurements of 73cm in height and 69cm in width and a length of 100cm. The sleeve and screw assembly was selected with a diameter of two inches and a length of 1 meter, driven by a 5HP motor, with a final speed of 40rpm. The electrical system was designed to power the motor and the thermal resistances that melt the plastic, where everything is powered by 110V, which allows connection to the Cerro Rico small town, which does not have a three-phase electric network. The machine is managed from the electrical chest where all the electrical connections, elements and operating buttons are located; expecting works eight hours a day and processes approximately 8.2 kg/h. Finally, an operations manual was made for its management.
