Summary: | The project proposes to develop an electronic instrumentation system to the experimental bench for measuring mechanical cams located at Antonio Nariño University's mechanical engineering laboratory in Ibague. The shape of the cam is detected by the system using resistive position sensors when the cam is rotating controlally on the bench and are plotted on a graphical interface in MATLAB. For evaluating the performance of the system, the bench has two reference cams (radial and cylindrical) which have their respective data sheet with the exact measurements of their profile, so that they can be compared with the measurements provided by the system. Finally, a device with a measuring range of 2.5cm and margin of error of 6.5% was obtained |
