The objective of this paper is to identify, analyze and develop the risk map for the water quality of a Colombian municipal water supply system categorized with a low complexity level. It was realized as a description, analysis and qualitative assessment of the threats and vulnerabilities identified. The risk assessment was carried out through two criteria: (i) estimation of the occurrence probability, and (ii) impact by the risk materialization. The results show that the supply sources “La Moya” and “Bellavista” present dominant risks of the anthropogenic and natural type, respectively. Additionally, the results suggest that the conditions of water quality are suitable for human consumption; however, it is required to ensure the presence of disinfection treatment in the water treatment plant due to the presence of coliforms. Consequently, the water quality risk index shows a classification of “high risk”, mainly due to the presence of coliforms and E. coli.Satisfacer las exigencias de calidad del agua para consumo humano es uno de los principales retos a los que se enfrentan las empresas prestadoras del servicio de acueducto; debido a la degradación de las fuentes de abastecimiento, al deterioro de las hoyas hidrográficas, y a cambios climáticos que ponen en riesgo los componentes del sistema. El objetivo de este artículo es identificar, analizar y elaborar el mapa de riesgos para la calidad del agua de un sistema de abastecimiento municipal colombiano categorizado con un nivel de complejidad bajo. Se realizó una descripción, análisis y valoración cualitativa de las amenazas y vulnerabilidades identificadas. La valoración del riesgo se realizó a través de dos criterios: (i) estimación de la probabilidad de ocurrencia, e (ii) impacto por la materialización del riesgo. Los resultados muestran que las fuentes de abastecimiento “La Moya” y “Bellavista” presentan riesgos dominantes de tipo antrópico y natural, respectivamente. Adicionalmente, los resultados sugieren que las condiciones de calidad del agua son aptas para consumo humano; no obstante, se requiere garantizar el tratamiento de desinfección en la potabilizadora debido a la presencia de coliformes.
