Accordingly, the article encourages reviewing the epistemological foundations that govern research in Colombian university faculties, offering ideas or principles for starting an academicdialogue with teachers, researchers and students.En los últimos años se ha venido gestando, cada vez con más fuerza, un creciente grupo de pensadores que empiezan a cuestionar el vigente colonialismo del saber, del poder y del ser. Asimismo, sus reflexiones han empezado a mostrar salidas a la hegemónica dependencia epistémica de los países ‘condenados’ por el sistema-mundo moderno (Wallerstein, 1999).
