Summary:In Colombia rice is considered a product of great economic importance. Of the national production, the Department of Huila occupies 10% of the area planted through mechanized crops. It is estimated that around 15 thousand hectares have been affected by rainfall in one form or another, and by droughts that were not foreseen in time by the lack of timely knowledge of the behavior of certain meteorological variables such as: ambient temperature, relative humidity, barometric pressure, soil temperature and its conductivity by farmers, generating significant losses due to ignorance of them.
