In recent years, it has experienced notable growth in the production and export of soybean oil, becoming an important economic engine that generates employment and promotes rural development in Colombia. Furthermore, starting in 2019, Meta diversified its export basket to stand out not only for oil extraction, but also for the supply of agricultural products, which has increased its participation in national exports.  El departamento del Meta, situado en la región de la Orinoquía Colombiana, destaca por su amplia extensión territorial que impulsa sectores clave de la economía nacional como la agricultura, agroindustria, minería, ecoturismo y comercio. En los últimos años, ha experimentado un notable crecimiento en la producción y exportación de aceite de soya, convirtiéndose en un motor económico importante que genera empleo y promueve el desarrollo rural en Colombia.
