Summary:Divorce is a very present event in society, it is presented as the fact of a couple who have lived together for a period of time. And decide not to live together either through a legal process or a separation of bodies, this brings with it economic, physical, emotional and psychological changes in family members either positively or negatively, and those who are mostly affected are children, especially those who are in the stage of adolescence, since this is an age in which behavioral and behavioral changes are experienced, and they have different perspectives about the problems they experience in the contexts where they operate and more than those that primarily involve the family system, since this is not only the basis of society, but also the one in which the human being is formed as a person. The present investigation has as a general objective, to describe the way in which the adolescent perceives the divorce or separation of their parents, to know their emotional situation and the way in which this phenomenon affects their behavior; This is done through a descriptive qualitative methodology, which uses interviews with adolescents who have experienced a process of divorce from their parents. Concluding that the three categories of social representation, adolescent and family, which intervene in this complex phenomenon, which implies experienced circumstances of a social, educational, economic, cultural nature, which revolve around the emotions of the members of the family system especially adolescent children, for which it is of great importance to address this problem in all contexts through family, community and academic spaces.
