Summary:The following research allows identifying the level of learning associated with reading and writing in children who are in the 5th grade of primary school at the educational institution "José Edmundo Sandoval" through an AVA learning environment and a virtual keyboard, under the technological tools of support which promote software and hardware solutions oriented to the line of rehabilitation engineering in health and education; helping the different professionals to identify the learning difficulties in reading and writing which are associated with different disorders or disabilities, thus generating an approach to a first diagnosis. For the execution of the project, an inquiry was started with the different professionals (speech pathologist, teacher and psychologist) who affirmed that the best methods for evaluating students was a “screening test and a literacy assessment, for which it was designed A prototype that met the characteristics stipulated by the professional, based on engineering knowledge, an “interactive platform” was implemented using the Unity development environment and electronics applied to a virtual keyboard that used user interaction with the different activities. For the validation process, a series of tests of the software and hardware is stipulated, the registration of the users and the storage through the information in the database. Taking into account the above, the respective field tests were carried out with the students of the José Edmundo Sandoval Educational Institution, where it was confirmed that the performance of the software and hardware met the expectations raised in the execution of the project to evaluate learning related to reading. and writing.
