The study was conducted under a descrptive and purposeful approach. As a result we present the identification of the criteria underlying the selection, retention, promotion and grade of students in technical and technological institutions in the city of Bogota.Este artículo presenta una síntesis del estado del arte sobre una investigación acerca de los sistemas de evaluación en las instituciones técnicas y tecnológicas en Colombia, a partir de aspectos como la normatividad vigente en materia de educación superior nacional, los documentos institucionales y datos estadísticos del Sistema Nacional de Información de Educación Superior (en adelante, SNIES), el Consejo Nacional de Acreditación y el Ministerio de Educación Nacional. El estudio se desarrolla bajo un enfoque descriptivo y propositivo.
