Despite the advantages of this practice, alternatives to the use of pieces fixed with formaldehyde, by the vapors that these emanate and that can represent a risk for students and veterinary personnel since they have an irritant, allergenic and probably carcinogenic (Morales, Pérez and Severiche, 2014).Uno de los métodos más útiles para el estudio de estructuras anatómicas es el uso de preparaciones cadavéricas conservadas en formol, ya que los estudiantes pueden captar y retener la información por mayor tiempo, lo cual es provechoso para el futuro del profesional (Bravo, 2006).
