Objective. To describe the sociodemographic, systemic, local, preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative conditions of patients undergoing implantology procedures by postgraduate periodontics from Antonio Nariño University from 2016 to 2021. Methodology. This retrospective and cross-sectional descriptive observational study was carried out by reviewing all the medical records of implant cases at Postgraduate Periodontics clinics. In order to measure the success or failure of these procedures, or the early failure of dental implants, an instrument was designed for this research project. An analysis was performed using descriptive statistics and a Chi square test. Results. 320 implants were evaluated in 150 patients. It was observed that 15 cases failed early. Conclusion. the failure rate was measured to be 4.7%. Furthermore, a strong relationship between bone loss and early implant failure was established. |

Caracterizar las condiciones sociodemográficas, sistémicas, locales, preoperatorias, intraoperatorias y postoperatorias de los pacientes sometidos a procedimientos de implantología del postgrado de periodoncia de la Universidad Antonio Nariño comprendidos entre los años 2016 a 2021. Metodología. Se realizó un estudio observacional descriptivo retrospectivo y transversal en todos los casos de implantes que fueron tratados y registrados en las historias clínicas de pacientes que fueron atendidos en las clínicas del Posgrado de Periodoncia, con el fin de relacionar los factores de éxito y fracaso de la falla temprana de implantes dentales, se realizó un instrumento para evaluación. Se realizó un análisis, mediante el uso de estadística descriptiva y prueba de Chi cuadrado. Resultados. Se evaluaron 320 implantes, en 150 pacientes, donde se observó que fallaron tempranamente 15 casos. Conclusión: la tasa de falla fue del 4,7%.
