Summary:This research investigation is to understand the concepts of a group of teenagers from single parent families, assigned to the parental relationships with peers and established emotional ties, making use of a study with qualitative methodology. Besides it was used the open interview transcribed literally with relevant categories for the analysis about the meanings attributed to parental relationships, to the communication, into family relationships and important emotional relationships, the occasional consumption of substances a life projects, relations with the peers and the academic situations inside the institution which gather the information to understand the question, achieve the proposed objects and make the arguments that evidence the situations within family interactions. Into these elements we find parents by abandonment or duel, a lack of lack of communication and consumption of substances which argues their behaviors. This work meets the established for investigation and provides interesting results that reflect what family represents in each one of the contexts where teenagers are developed; that's why the facts contributed to the expectations we waited for the investigation.
