Description
Summary:This project entails the design of a system that enables the monitoring of the quality parameters of recovered condensate from the process in the raw water unit of a crude oil refinery to optimize its processes. Considering that the high prices of crude oil represent a financial deficit for the refinery, the implementation of the proposed system implies significant economic savings and an increase in water use efficiency through the recovery of the vapor used in these processes. The methodology implemented was divided into four stages. The first stage consists of searching relevant bibliographic and technical documentation to identify the critical quality parameters for the condensate recovered in the raw water unit of the refinery. The second stage involves selecting suitable mechanical and electronic components to measure the identified quality parameters and to build an online monitoring system prototype. The third stage aims to implement a prototype of the water monitoring system. The fourth and final stage is the validation testing of the developed prototype using raw water from the refinery unit to evaluate its effectiveness in detecting deviations in the quality parameters of the recovered condensate.
