Description
Summary:Radiología Digital S.A.S. is a national Health Services Provider Institution (HSPI) that is qualified as a reference provider in teleradiology. The computation of the indicators of opportunity have revealed significant delays in the radiological imaging stage, which in addition to hindering the institution's processes, generating negative cost effects and affecting its mission objective, have repercussions directly for the patient. The setbacks in the process of acquiring radiological images, exposes, in some cases, the patient again to ionizing radiation, extends the opportunity times, affects the resolution, among others. In this degree project, the optimization of the X-ray taking process for the most requested modality for reading and interpretation was carried out in a referring client of the company Radiología Digital S.A.S. The simulation of the image acquisition process was performed using Petri nets and information on the processes was obtained using information gathering instruments and meetings. For optimization, the MATLAB Petri Net Toolbox was used, with which the current process of acquiring the X-ray image of the selected IPS was modeled and simulated, in which changes in the structure were generated that allowed presenting three possible optimizations. The optimization that generated the greatest impact was the basis of a document with suggestions addressed to the referring client that would improve the process of acquiring diagnostic images and therefore impact the delivery times of the radiological report.
