Urban life exemplify the simultaneous, the multiple and the fragmented, and literature, with its capacity to suggest images and convey emotions, depicts life’s sense through small events that become a milestone for individual memories that narrative converts into moments and places for encounters. Literary images transform memory into words and these allow the sharing of reminiscences.El eje del artículo es la mirada al espacio público como ámbito de la comunicación y de satisfacción a los “deseos de ciudad”, a través del cual se identificaron en las narrativas los mejores ejemplos: de Pamuk a Borges, de Calvino a Auster, no hay narrativa que no reconozca a la ciudad como el espacio existencial, constituido por lugares, tránsitos y recorridos, personas y acontecimientos. La vida urbana se caracteriza por lo simultáneo, lo múltiple y lo fragmentado, y la literatura, con su capacidad para sugerir imágenes y transmitir emociones, muestra el sentido de la vida a través de pequeños acontecimientos que se convierten en hitos en la memoria a nivel individual y que la narrativa convierte en momentos, en lugares de encuentros.
