Summary:Adaptation plays an important role throughout human life since through it psychological, academic and social components are observed. The present study tries to describe the psychological and social characteristics through the experiences in the academic classroom of three students aged between 9 and 17 years old, belonging to a district school in the town of Kennedy, in the Tintal neighborhood of the city of Bogotá. For this, the descriptive method was used, with qualitative scope and narrative type. The instrument used was the in-depth interview. The subjects under study were three persons under the age of nine, fourteen and seventeen years. In the results, it was found that in the educational adaptation they present affectations at the psychological level, due to the differentiation at the social, academic and cultural level, presenting shocks regarding the relationship with their peers and teachers, achieving a negative affectation in their self-esteem , school perception, self-efficacy, self-reinforcement and self-concept, achieved a low school adaptation in the participants
