Description
Summary:The water supply for the development of agricultural production systems is essential for their success; however, the lack of regularity in the supply is a problem faced daily by farmers; the research project describes the design and simulation of a ram pump prototype for water supply in the farm "El Manantial" in the municipality of Neiva. The methodology used consists of 6 phases, starting from the state of the art, definition of requirements, conceptual design, calculations, detailed design and simulation; the results obtained show a ram pump with a vertical air chamber coupled by means of hexagonal screws and seal to a galvanized nipple, which operates under three phases or cycles of fluid movement through it; the first phase indicates the fluid velocity is 0. 979 m/s and the flow Q is 0.1399 L/min; in the second phase the first water hammer occurs inside the pump when the shock valve is closed, here the output speed is 0.974 m/s and the third phase in which the fluid runs through the entire supply pipe; as a conclusion, it is concluded that with the implementation of the pump the new projects can be supplied alternately in terms of irrigation.
