Description
Summary:The primary purpose of the present study was to analyze the factors associated with the academic performance of children from the Pilosos Club in Hatonuevo, Guajira. To achieve this, the CES, the Family APGAR, the D2 Test, and a characterization form were administered to 40 boys and girls. Descriptive analysis indicates an overall positive school social climate, appropriate family functioning for the majority of participants, optimal performance in attention with regard to response rate, correct responses, total performance, and a low prevalence of errors, especially omissions. Correlational analysis reveals no relationship or association between family structure, family functionality, school social climate, and performance on the attention test concerning students' academic performance, as all p-values are greater than .05. It is concluded that further research on potential explanatory factors for academic performance is relevant, utilizing larger and more representative samples, as well as improved measurements.
