Description
Summary:The company “Diseño Urbanismo, Arquitectura y Ordenamiento (UAO)”, it provides consultancy in architectural design, structural design, and soil studies, offering its services, thereby generating complete credibility and confidence from the clients. The company is currently seeking interns to expedite the processes involved in soil and pavement studies. The interns will be responsible for a several tasks, including support in the collection and preparation of samples onsite and in the laboratory. Additionally, they will assist in the characterization of soil samples and stone aggregates (granulometries, Atterberg limits, load capacity, and others). These activities must be carried out using a mixed methodology, as they involve the collection of qualitative data (sample data collection) and quantitative data (support activities in laboratory sample analysis), with an empirical analytical and experimental approach (SPT and CBR studies). The results of the conducted studies demonstrate various aspects (soil profiles) that need to be considered when designing a structure, whether it is a one to three-story building like in the Quebrada de Becerras Path (GM soil) and San Rafael Farm (CL soil) or a five-story building with a mezzanine in San Carlos Neighborhood (ML soil). The internship's development successfully achieved the objective of improving efficiency and processes within the company through field activities and report generation. The application of the knowledge acquired by the interns during their civil engineering studies and the newly acquired knowledge was also demonstrated, thus enriching their academic and professional life.
