Summary: | Objectives: The objective of this instigation was to know the influence of nicotine and its biological effects on a group of genes involved in tooth movement in orthodontics. Methodology: Searches were carried out in the databases in which articles were selected that included randomized and non-randomized clinical trials, systematic reviews and original articles without language restriction and studies published from all years included in the relevant databases. For the search and selection of the articles, the genes involved in normal tooth movement reported by Huang et al., in 2014, were used as a basis. |
