In the same way, as a guide from psychology, the systemic approach was taken as a reference, which corresponds to perceiving the family as a whole. Regarding the methodology, it is developed taking as a guide the precepts of qualitative research to capture the reality of families who lost a loved one, taking into account as a reference a sample of four informants, to whom a open interview, where each participant expressed their experience facing the loss of a family member. The results are consistent and related to the particular experience to face the loss, the changes of roles within the groups are determined according to the degree of affectation by the same loss and the breakdown of communication within the families is a visible element because it generates family union or group disintegration
