Description
Summary:Objective: To validate the clinical practice protocols for the area of oral rehabilitation in the UAN 2023 clinics at the Armenia campus. Methodology: A review of the clinical practice protocols in oral rehabilitation used in the dentistry program at the UAN Armenia campus was carried out to identify their status and applicability. Simultaneously, a search for protocols in different dental programs in the country was carried out. Subsequently, seven (7) protocols were constructed and/or adapted based on the clinical evidence and bibliography found and were subjected to an initial analysis by oral rehabilitators. In the next phase, once they were finished, they were submitted to analysis and validation by two teachers specialized in oral rehabilitation at the headquarters, so that they could qualify them by means of the AGREE GRS format. Results: Four of the seven protocols required for clinical activities in the area were found to be deficient in form: design, spelling and grammatical errors, as well as in substance: outdated, problems of structure, clinical concordance and others. No clinical practice protocols were found for the following procedures: provisionals, neuromiorelaxing plate, and transitional prosthesis. Seven protocols were adapted and/or constructed, which were reviewed and evaluated by two experts in the field, teachers of the program, by means of AGREE GRS methodology, yielding the following results: the protocols of total prosthesis, removable prosthesis and transitional prosthesis were validated obtaining one hundred percent (100%) of qualification, the remaining four protocols obtained the following results: provisional 94%, intrarradicular retainers 92%, fixed partial prosthesis 83% and neuromiorelaxing plate 67%, therefore, they were not validated. Conclusions: 1. Four (4) clinical management protocols were found as follows: total prosthesis protocol, removable prosthesis, fixed prosthesis and intrarradicular retainer, with an update date of 2013 2. Three (3) clinical activities of the oral rehabilitation area do not have protocols: transitional or immediate prosthesis, neuromiorelaxing plate and provisionals. Seven (7) clinical management protocols were submitted for validation, according to AGREE GRS methodology, obtaining their approval, three protocols as follows: total prosthesis, removable prosthesis and transitional or immediate prosthesis, the protocols of provisional, intrarradicular retainers, fixed partial prosthesis and neuromiorelaxing plate did not obtain validation.
