Its possible connection has been explored by proposing how physical activity, physical exercise or participation in sports can be used as an intervention strategy to treat this addiction. The objective is to carry out a narrative review of the literature on the relationships between physical activity or participation in sports, mediating variables and addiction to smartphones in the student population. Methodology: A search was carried out in the main research databases: Web of Science and Scopus, to find the relevant literature on the relationships between addiction to smartphone use and the practice of physical exercise. Results and discussion: The results suggest that as smartphone addiction increases, the level of physical activity in students decreases. The results on physical inactivity, mediating variables, addictions, perceptions and psychological abilities are discussed, and guidelines are proposed to prevent addiction to smartphones in adolescent students. Conclusions: Smartphone addiction can be reduced by increasing participation in sports and physical activity/exercise among students. Educational institutions can use sport and exercise as an intervention strategy to deal with addiction to smartphones in the student population. |

Se ha explorado su posible conexión planteando como hipótesis que la actividad físico-deportiva, el ejercicio físico o la participación en deportes pueden utilizarse como una estrategia de intervención para tratar esta adicción. Se plantea como objetivo realizar una revisión narrativa de la literatura sobre las relaciones entre la actividad físico-deportiva o la participación en deportes, las variables mediadoras y la adicción a los smartphones en la población estudiantil. Metodología: se llevó a cabo una búsqueda en las principales bases de datos de investigación: Web of Science (WoS) y Scopus, para encontrar la literatura relevante sobre las relaciones entre la adicción al uso del smartphone y la práctica de ejercicio físico. Resultados y discusión: los resultados sugieren que, a medida que aumenta la adicción al smartphone, disminuye el nivel de actividad físico-deportiva en los estudiantes. Se discuten los resultados sobre inactividad físico-deportiva, variables mediadoras, adicciones, percepciones y habilidades psicológicas, así como se plantean pautas para prevenir la adicción a los smartphones en los estudiantes adolescentes. Conclusiones: la adicción a los smartphones puede reducirse aumentando la participación en actividad físico-deportiva entre los estudiantes. Las instituciones educativas pueden utilizar el deporte y el ejercicio como estrategia de intervención para hacer frente a la adicción a los smartphones en la población estudiantil.Introdução: a dependência de smartphones está associada a efeitos negativos na saúde psicofísica e no bem-estar social. A atividade física e a dependência de smartphones são consideradas duas variáveis independentes, mas inter-relacionadas em termos de saúde. Sua possível conexão foi explorada propondo como a atividade física, o exercício físico ou a participação em esportes podem ser usados como estratégia de intervenção para tratar esse vício. O objetivo é realizar uma revisão narrativa da literatura sobre as relações entre atividade física ou participação em esportes, variáveis mediadoras e dependência de smartphones na população estudantil. Metodologia: foi realizada uma pesquisa nas principais bases de dados de pesquisa: Web of Science e Scopus, para encontrar a literatura relevante sobre as relações entre o vício do uso do smartphone e a prática de exercício físico. Resultados e discussão: os resultados sugerem que, à medida que aumenta o vício em smartphones, o nível de atividade física dos alunos diminui. Os resultados sobre inatividade física, variáveis mediadoras, vícios, percepções e habilidades psicológicas são discutidos e propostas diretrizes para prevenir o vício em smartphones em estudantes adolescentes. Conclusões: O vício em smartphones pode ser reduzido aumentando a participação em esportes e atividade física/exercício entre os alunos.
