Description
Summary:The main goal of this project is to manufacture a dry electrolysis cell with a 40 % KOH electrolyte solution powered by a solar photovoltaic cell. The article “Thermal characterization of an alkaline electrolysis cell for hydrogen” was the theoretical base of this project. One of the expected results of the undertaken experiments is to increase the hydrogen volume against the previously analyzed cell reported in the article base. To improve the results, we reduced the distance between the cell electrodes from 3 mm to 1 mm, and we used better materials for its construction. Furthermore, experimental tests were performed, and the results obtained were compared with the base article results, validating an increase of 36.5 % in hydrogen generation experimentally.
