Summary:In the passing of history torture has been present in society, despite being for a long time a common practice in humankind, little by little the vision of torture became towards the establishment of its abolition. Nowadays, international thinking and the framework of international rights, torture is considered and action that violates human rights, is classified as an ignominious and degrading act that generates reproach, repudiation and contempt on the part of the human being, aware of the harmful consequences that it produces. In the light of the above, the same society through international organizations for the defense, promotion, guarantee and respect for human rights, seeks protection against act of torture aimed at its elimination, for example by means of its qualification as a crime against humanity.
