In the following article, different technological platforms where blockchain can be applied will be explained, uncovering their positive and negative aspects. Additionally, use cases in each of these platforms will be shown, at business and governmental levels, so that the reader can have a better approach of the benefit in applying this technology. Finally, the challenges that must be taken into account when implementing this technology will be analyzed.El concepto de blockchain día a día va tomando más relevancia, por que, cada vez se hace más necesaria la elaboración de documentos en los que se ilustre sobre el funcionamiento de esta tecnología disruptiva, puesto que la literatura primaria y secundaria relacionada aún es muy poca. En el siguiente artículo se explicarán diferentes plataformas tecnológicas en las que se puede aplicar el blockchain, detectando sus respectivos aspectos positivos y negativos. Adicionalmente, se mostrarán casos de uso de cada una de estas plataformas, tanto a nivel empresarial como gubernamental, para que el lector se pueda acercar más al beneficio que tendría la aplicación de esta tecnología.
