Es el propósito de este reporte de caso mostrar la exposición extraoral de una placa de osteosíntesis de reconstrucción mandibular de bloqueo, en un paciente sometido a hemimandibulectomía, glosectomía subtotal, gastrostomía temporal y terapia oncológica coadyuvante por un proceso patológico mandibular asociado, y su manejo posretiro de material de osteosíntesis no convencional, lo que hace diferente el tratamiento con respecto a otros descritos en la literatura.[Correa PE, Ruiz JM. Ustasalud. 2014; 13: 55 - 60]Mandibular reconstruction systems have been adapted through the years by medical and orthopedic principles, but there are limitations and minimum requirements to be considered in order to avoid complications described in the literature as infection, fracture of the osteosynthesis material, intra and extraoral exposure of osteosynthesis material and loss of stability of the rigid fixation, among others.
