Description
Summary:This research aims to strengthen reading and writing habits in students of grades 4 and 5 of the New School of the “Buena Esperanza” Technical Institute, El Limoncito campus, through the implementation of the “portfolio activities” strategy. The development of the project revolves around the categories of educational process based on Díaz (2006), reading and writing habits with the contributions of Solé (1992) and Cassany (1995), portfolio of activities described by Argudín (2007) and new school according to the ideas of Dewey (1995). The methodological design consisted of an action research study with a qualitative approach, developed according to the process described by Pérez Serrano and Nieto (1993) of 5 stages under a circular logic of permanent review and reflection, the instruments applied for the collection of information were the field diary and the TALE Test and a triangulation analysis technique was applied. The results obtained reflect a significant advance in the reading and writing levels of students who are more confident when reading aloud, organize ideas better to form the structure of texts and enjoy the tasks assigned to perform at home. The product of the research is the portfolio of activities, a proposal that has allowed learners to explore playfully, didactically and creatively their interpretation and composition skills in Spanish.
