Summary:	This article aims to understand how the women of the Casa Cultural del Chontaduro resignify their experiences of various acts or situations of violence through art with the valuation of symbolic elements of their social and cultural identity. In this way, a qualitative methodology was used where semi-structured interviews were conducted with three women from the Casa Cultural del Chontaduro in order to learn about these experiences from their own narratives and interpret them through the theory of social psychology. It was found that a book, certain songs, poems, musical instruments, and costumes are symbolic elements for the women of the Casa Cultural del Chontaduro, who serve as mediators in the process of resignification and contribute to an affirmation of social and cultural identity.
