Summary:The purpose of this article is to analyze the process and scope of the factors on reading such as oral expression, fluency and reading comprehension in a sixth-grade student with intellectual disability who receives attention in the USAER. The implemented strategy of pedagogical intervention was carried out in the city of Oaxaca, through instruction manuals with a cognitive vision, considering that the comprehension and fluency of a text requires the development of thinking in optical, perceptual, syntactic and meaning aspects. The methodological structure was taken from the perspective of the case study proposed by Stake (1999), by combining all the observable elements in the breadth of the case and carrying out a qualitative investigation in the collection of data through the application of field instruments. For the breadth and depth of the case, the pillars of observation, reflection, planning, action and evaluation were retaken to cohere these elements and understand the particularity of the case-study. Results were obtained through triangulation of the guidelines provided by the teachers involved for the breakdown of the objectives achieved.
