Las visitas empresariales como oportunidad de fortalecimiento al perfil del ingeniero industrial

The industrial engineer must have an ideal profile to design, improve and install integrated man, material and equipment systems. Skills and competencies such as: interdisciplinary knowledge, information management and processing, training in basic sciences, technology and humanities, adaptability to change. These are some of the required by the production sector to analyze processes in industrial and/or service systems. The Industrial Engineering program of the National Open and Distance University UNAD applies knowledge in natural sciences, mathematics, statistics, methods and tools to the design of processes and systems, in order to develop elements of improvement in indicators of competitiveness and productivity in companies and regions of the country. This article analyzes whether there is a strengthening of the profile of the Industrial Engineer with the development of business visits made by industrial engineering students during the years 2008 to 2018 at UNAD CEAD Yopal. The study addresses a mixed exploratory descriptive approach using results validation through contingency tables and expert consultation. The variables observed were: methods and tools, areas, benefits, skills, competencies, identified functions and reasons to attend visits. It is concluded that there is a significant partnership between visits and the strengthening of skills and capabilities required by the environment.
