Scientific articles published in the last three years in Latin America and the world were consulted in databases. The concept of self-regulation is similar to others such as: self-study, self-learning, self-improvement, co-regulation, metacognition and executive functions; it has been associated to variables such as academic performance, motivation, physical activity, learning styles, teaching practices, neurodidactics, among others.
