La presente investigación pretende establecer si existe relación entre el rendimiento académico y el estatus sociométrico. El rendimiento académico fue definido mediante el cómputo del promedio de las materias más relevantes, tales como español, matemáticas, ciencias y sociales, y el estatus sociométrico fue definido a partir de las nominaciones hechas por los participantes, las cuales fueron agrupadas en las categorías de popular, rechazado, ignorado, controvertido, promedio y otro. La muestra estuvo compuesta por 14 niños y 9 niñas, para un total de 23 participantes, con un rango de edad de entre 7 y 10 años, quienes cursaban tercero de primaria en un colegio privado en la ciudad de Bogotá. El análisis estadístico de los datos arrojó como resultado que no hay una correlación estadísticamente significativa entre el rendimiento académico y el estatus sociométrico, esto posiblemente pudo deberse al tamaño de la muestra, ya que la técnica de nominación utilizada podría requerir grupos más grandes, por tanto se sugiere que al trabajar con muestras pequeñas se utilice la técnica de elecciones forzadas que nominara a cada integrante del grupo dentro de un estatus, y posiblemente se puedan establecer relaciones con el rendimiento académico. |

The academic performance was defined by means of the calculation of the average of the most relevant, such matters as Spanish, mathematics, sciences and social, and the status sociométrico was defined from the nominations done by the participants, which were grouped in the categories of popularly, rejected, ignored, controversial, average and other . The sample was composed by 14 children and 9 girls, for a total of 23 participants, by a range between 7 to 10 years, who were dealing third party of primary in a private college in the city of Bogota.
