Description
Summary:The aim of this study is to understand the relationship between intrinsic and extrinsic factors that generate anxiety and its involvement in sports performance. For this, a documentary review of published scientific articles about the predictors of anxiety was carried out. Several studies agree on key factors that lead to the presence of this variable in sport, thus identifying four categories that group the intrinsic factors: emotional, motivational, cognitive and personality; and three categories of extrinsic factors: sports, interpersonal relations and gender, where specific relationships between categories are identified and the negative influence they generate on sports performance. In conclusion, the climate generated by the coach, as an external factor with greater influence, affects both intrinsic factors and sports performance.
