| Summary: | This paper proposes a multidisciplinary analysis method for freestyle rap performance. The first part suggests the study of four dimensions of freestyle rap: the poetic, the linguistic, the musical and the performance dimensions. To enrich this proposal, in the second part, a case study is presented: the analysis of the poetic dimension of a freestyle performance by the Argentine rapper Acru, as well as an analysis of some aspects of Parry & Lord’s oral-formulaic theory. This will shed light on some of the poetic resources used by the freestyler in the immediate context of its verbal art. |
